The cabinet is crafted from durable poplar hardwood solids, birch veneers and a cherry veneer top, matched and finished in a warm, stately burnished cherry and fronted with antique-inspired drawer pulls. Two large file drawers constructed with dovetail joinery are mounted on smooth, full-extension, ball-bearing guides. Both can accommodate letter or legal hanging files, and each is outfitted with a secure lock. The drawers are separated by a sleek dust/security panel.

A pre-installed tip-restraining mechanism and built-in base levelers in each of the cabinet's bun feet keep the whole unit firmly in place.
