They extend smoothly on full-extension ball bearing slides. This filing cabinet is constructed from furniture-grade particle board. A hand-rubbed antique black finish covers the base, while a rich cherry finish creates a sophisticated highlight on top. This cabinet lets you enjoy a functional decor element that gets better every day. Assembly required.

This is a filing cabinet that does not look like one! You get the benefit of an attractive, reasonably priced, and durable filing cabinet that looks great in your home. Assembly went smoothly, although it does take several hours. I think the key to assembly is to read the instructions through before you start, lay out the parts and hardware, and follow the instructions step by step. This cabinet is an example of the product being better than expected.

I am pretty experienced at furniture assembly and this was the most difficult thing I have ever put together. I had to work on it over two days because I had blisters from screwing in so many screws. I would recommend investing in a power drill before attempting assembly.

        So far it's what I expected from a put it together yourself type of product. I searched for a solid wood piece similar to this, but couldn't find a comprable price so had to go with a particle board choice. I think it will serve our needs. Looks decent in our home office. I put it together myself, took about 2 hours, not complicated.
